This week in the atrium
by Rianna Brazee
We are more than a month in and what happens when you start to swim? You get a bit tired and there’s that moment when you think, I’m not sure I can keep going...I might be drowning. Yep. We may have drowned a bit last week. Got a bit too big for our britches and started forgetting how slow, how quiet, how still the atrium needs to be. A simple lesson on how to watch another work and how to ask to work with another turned into “friend time.” While community is a part of the atrium it is more emphasized in level 2-3. Right now for our little ones, our goal is not friendship with each other (albeit great) but with God. We need to help them be still, (we need to be still) so that they can hear the still small whisper. So we will be reminding them that most of the time we need to work on our own work. We need to be silent. IF we are still and silent, we can hear God and it won’t feel like drowning to slip beneath the surface, it will feel like we are really breathing, because we will have moved from this world into a whole different world. Like that which is hidden beneath the surface of the Ocean, the world and time of God is totally other than what we see with the naked eye. We are called to slip into His time, HIs world, HIs space and see the wonders he wishes to show us.
